Liberation: D-Day To Berlin
Step onto the frontlines of one of history’s most defining moments with Liberation: D-Day to Berlin, a bold new four-part documentary series. Blending astonishing first-person testimony with our expertly restored and colourised archive footage, the series brings the final moments of World War II into breathtaking clarity.
Our team delivered an 90 minutes of colourisation and restoration with over 1,300 shots produced across four episodes. Using our in-house suite of cutting-edge tools, we restored rare footage from the Allied campaign across Europe - from the beaches of Normandy to the ruins of Berlin. What were once dusty reels of monochrome war footage have been transformed into vivid, living history.
From stabilisation and frame-rate correction to detailed manual clean-up and full-colour reconstruction, every scene we touched was brought up to a stunning modern broadcast standard. In this ambitious project, our colourisation doesn’t just paint history - it reframes it, placing viewers in the shoes of those who lived through the conflict.
Directed by Ian Bremner, Rosalind Bain and Jonathan Drake, Liberation weaves a powerful narrative across four nations and countless lives - civilian and military alike. With each episode exploring a different phase of the liberation, the series offers a visceral, emotionally rich retelling of the Allied advance through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and ultimately into Germany.
This is World War II as it’s never been seen before - restored, reimagined, and deeply human.
